American Arborist crane removal

Here is a video from a crane removal we did this week.  From tree to chipper the material never hits the ground.  Hands down the safest and most effective way to remove a tree.

Here is a photo of the trucks we have.  Each has a specific purpose and all are very versatile.  From left to right;

  • The chipper truck is used to haul a whopping 25 cubic yards of chips!! They are shot into the back of the truck from the chipper pulled behind it.  The chipper has an 18" chipping capacity. That means we are hauling very few logs and chipping most of the tree on site very quickly.
  • The bucket truck's main function is a 60' ariel platform for working on trees. It is handy for trimming and removal jobs.  It allows us to work faster and safer than those who don't have one. The truck also has the capacity to haul 15 cubic yards of chips in the dump bed behind it! It pulls a 14' dump trailer. The trailer hauls a skid steer and stump grinder. Once those are unloaded the trailer is perfect for hauling logs.
  • We use the Ford f-350 for hauling trailers.  It has a huge snow plow for winter time and a sander in the bed.

70+ mph winds in Blair

Here are some photos from the other day's storm in Blair Iowa.  Konfirst Tree service was removing a tree off this jeep as I stopped by.
American Arborist has the equipment and capabilities to do tree work with minimal yard disturbance.

One way we can do that is by using alturnamats. Alturnamats are plastic mats we can put down to protect the yard from equipment. These perform better than simply setting plywood on the grass. Here we used the mats to approach a tree over this house with our bucket truck.
Another way is by using our Vermeer S600tx mini track machine. Other companies may come in with a full size skid steer to remove trees. These large machines are sure to do some yard damage. Often we can leave a yard the same way we came.

Mini Skid steer

One piece of equipment that American Arborist uses daily is the Vermeer Mini Skid steer. This unit can be equipped with a variety of attachments. Here it is being used to dump stump grindings into a truck. We also have a grapple used for dragging brush and loading logs. The track unit allows us to drive on nicely manicured lawns without disturbing the turf.

Don't plant river birches

Despite what local nurseries might tell you, River birches are not a good tree to plant in Nebraska. Not only do they get an iron deficiency called chlorosis, they are a favorite for Japanese beetles. Japanese beetles are a recent epidemic to Nebraska and can kill branches or an entire tree by defoliating the tree. If you do have a Riverbirch, treatments can be done, but they are costly. Although we don't do any planting, feel free to ask us for a recommendation on what to plant in your landscape.

American Arborist in the news

American Arborist was just recently in the news for working to clean up the city from all the storm damage we have had.  Here is a link to the news story.

A little trimming goes a log way

Here is a tree that we did for Habitat for Humanity.  The house had been neglected and it showed in its yard work.  Call us today at 402.478.TREE and see what we can do for your trees.

American Arborist is the perfect contractor for your tree removal. We have the knowledge and skills to climb trees that bucket trucks can't reach.

An apple a day...

I have no clue how this squirrel managed to climb the tree with this apple.

478.TREE

Here is a large pine tree that American Arborist removed today from Ralston Nebraska.  The tree was located between two houses with no bucket truck access.  The tree needed to be climbed and lowered piece by piece.  Here is a photo before starting and one photo during the removal.
